Statutory Durable Power of Attorney
A Statutory Durable Power of Attorney allows you as “the principal”, to appoint another person as your agent to handle your personal, financial, and even business affairs in the event that you become incapacitated or unavailable to act on your own behalf (a deployed servicemember would be considered unavailable). The powers in any power of attorney can be very broad. It is critically important that you know and trust the integrity and diligence of your appointed agent. Please consult an attorney before signing ANY power of attorney.
A Statutory Durable Power of Attorney is an important estate planning tool. The Peugh Law Firm not only recommends these documents but, we also have experience drafting them for our clients. Further, we also often recommend Medical Powers of Attorney, Physician’s Directives, and anatomical gift documentation as part of a complete estate plan.
Medical Power of Attorney
A Medical Power of Attorney allows you to appoint an agent to make health care decisions for you in accordance with your wishes if a time comes when you cannot make such decisions for yourself.
